At Doune & Dunblane Cricket Club, women's and girls' cricket is our top priority. We've even enshrined this commitment in our club constitution, reflecting our dedication to growing the game and ensuring women and girls have the same opportunities that men and boys have enjoyed for decades.
We recognise the rapid rise in female cricket participation across schools and clubs throughout the UK, and we are determined to see this reflected right here in our community. We understand that the historic perception of cricket might have put many women off in the past, often due to misconceptions like:
It's long, complicated, and boring.
It goes on for days.
It's too technical.
Only two people are ever involved.
We're here to challenge these outdated notions and show that cricket is a dynamic, engaging, and welcoming sport for everyone.
